In 2009 archaeologists uncovered the remains of a large Roman fortress. Distinguished by its defensive ditches and circular corners for archers to defend from. All Roman forts were built symmetrical and by studying the measurements of the 2009 report we can calculate the position of the remaining archaeology. Shaun (pictured above) from APS is doing an archaeology survey of the land looking for remaining evidence of the lost fort and we are excited to see the results.
